The clients of Glenayr House were hopeful that their run down and dingy home could be transformed into a fun, quirky and kid friendly oasis. The first step towards this transformation would be by adding light which was nearly non-existent in their semi. Incorporating a split roof with clear-story windows to one side and a unique open style steel and glass staircase topped by skylights solved this original problem. Retro blue coloured cabinets in the kitchen, multi-coloured faux timber tiles in the bathroom along with quirky light fixtures and bathroom-ware added fun to this family home. Open entertaining and improved transitions between the kitchen, living and outdoors allowed visitors and family members to eat, play and mingle in sight of each other.
