The transformation of this dated terrace started at the top by literally raising the roof. Having successfully achieved Council approval for a raised roof level for our clients, we started our design with a top level master retreat. This retreat became a vibrant space with the addition of skylights throughout the new master bedroom, en-suite and walk-in-robe. Downstairs the awkward compartments of the dated home were addressed including re-positioning the kitchen out to a functional outdoor courtyard and entertaining area. We used creative planning to add in lots of storage which was very important to this family home. Aesthetically we played on the existing bones of the building and added in the hints of luxury and light that allowed the heritage elements to shine throughout all the thoughtful details of our final design solution.

Environmental Features

  • Cross ventilation paths through the home.
  • Overhangs to block the harsh summer sun whilst allowing the winter sun to penetrate deep into the home.
